In 2011 Jacob established WarBird Press, a fine art printmaking studio that he operates as the Master Printmaker in Phoenix, AZ. Jacob possesses a BFA in painting with a minor in printmaking from Savannah College of Art and Design and a MFA in printmaking at Arizona State University. Jacob Meders is a member of the Mechoopda Indian Tribe of Chico Rancheria, California. In Addition to Krassner’s work as a film composer, Michael works continuously as a recording engineer and producer, recording records for Califone, Simon Joyner, Sonoi, Mick Turner, Glenn Kotche among dozens of others. Recent works by Michael Krassner and the Boxhead Ensemble include the John Hyams’ films The Smashing Machine, the Life and Times of Mark Kerr, Rank, Universal Soldier Regeneration, the documentary film People of the Seal(Kate Raisz), and the David Gordon Green film Undertow. ![]() Subsequent work on the live show took place at MASS MOCA. The ensemble premiered the live deconstructed meditation on the film HERE and The Story Sleeps at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in the summer of 2010. Production for the soundtrack brought the ensemble to Armenia and Chicago. Michael Krassner and the Boxhead Ensemble just completed the soundtrack to the Braden King film HERE. Subsequent Boxhead Ensemble recordings include a pair of live records from two international Dutch Harbor screening and live performance tours (The Last Place to Go and Niagara Falls), the studio albums Two Brothers, Quartets and the most recently released CD, Nocturnes. The ensemble went on to record the critically acclaimed soundtrack to the film Dutch Harbor: Where the Sea Breaks its Back in 1997 at Truckstop Audio Recording Company, where Krassner was a founding partner. The film is currently set to shoot during the fall of 2016.Ĭomposer Michael Krassner started the Boxhead Ensemble in the early 90’s, initially to score a number of short films by Larry Stuckey and Braden King. The Evening Hour stars Cynthia Nixon, Brian Geraghty, Marin Ireland and newcomer Michael Trotter. In addition to several video installation and short film projects, King is now preparing his next feature film, The Evening Hour, a small-town West Virginia crime thriller based on the book of the same name. King’s previous work includes the feature film Dutch Harbor: Where the Sea Breaks it’s Back (co-directed with photographer Laura Moya), the short film Home Movie and music videos for Glen Hansard, Sparklehorse, Sonic Youth, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy (Will Oldham) and Dirty Three. A live installation version of the project, HERE, premiered at The Museum of Modern Art in 2010 and continues to tour internationally. His most recent feature film, HERE, starring Ben Foster and Lubna Azabal, premiered at the 2011 Sundance and Berlin Film Festivals and was distributed theatrically by Strand Releasing in 2012. He has been featured in publications including Art Forum, Art in America, Art Lies, Metropolis Magazine, Dwell, and Architecture magazine.īraden King is a New York-based filmmaker, photographer and visual artist. His work has been exhibited at the Phoenix Art Museum, the Sundance Film Festival, the Walker Art Center, Mass MoCA, the World Congress of Soil Science in Korea and Nuit Blanche in Canada among many other venues. Moore lectures on art and agriculture across the country from San Francisco to New York, most recently at the 2014 TEDx Manhattan. His video and installation artwork are exhibited internationally. Matthew Moore (born 1976) is a multi-media artist and farmer based in Phoenix, Arizona. This four course, artist-curated dinner and program will feature artist Matthew Moore, filmmaker and artist Braden King, artist Jacob Meders, and musician and composer Michael Krassner. ![]()
